If you would prefer making your gift for the coach more personal, there are several things you can get them.  Personalized items can be a lot of fun for a team - especially for younger players and new coaches. Purchase a white ball and some permanent markers and have the team sign the ball. Once the ball has been signed, place it in a square case holding the ball.  On the outside of the case on the bottom have a personal message engraved such as “Thanks Coach Tom for a great season: Spartans 2006.” You can personalize other items, such as a framed photo of the team. Buy a white mat and have them team sign around the photo. You can also have the kids sign a baseball bat or football helmet. Be creative!

Another coach gift idea would be to make a photo album or DVD recollecting the entire season.  You can include highlights from the season and some of the close games.  Have a picture of each player with a message from each of them to the coach.  If it’s a DVD include a short segment from each player saying thanks and maybe what there favorite memory of the season was.  Get the kids involved and have them make a slideshow with sound effects and funny comments.
